Interpreters and Speech-Language Pathologists
To ensure positive outcomes for the clients, interpreters and Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP) need to successfully collaborate during the assessment and treatment sessions with individuals with communication disorders.
In the first portion, interpreters will learn about developmentally normal language acquisition and the roles of SLPs in the assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders. Age-appropriate strategies for working with clients will be reviewed, as will common terminology used in the field of communication disorders.
